Oregon Chapter American Fisheries Society Annual Meeting 2017

Beautiful Bend, Oregon, located along the Deschutes River in Central Oregon, played host to this year's annual conference for the Oregon Chapter of American Fisheries Society. This meeting consisted of some outstanding presentations of recent research from habitat restoration, diversity and inclusion in science to climate change. The annual auction raffled off fish artwork, fishing trips, and entertainment packages and treated the attendees to a live band at the banquet dinner. Smith-Root promoted new products that will be available for purchase coming soon, including Biomeme's two3™ hand-held device for detecting environmental DNA and pathogen detection, as well as Smith-Root's ANDe™ sampling system. Both of these eDNA tools received great attention from local governmental agencies, consulting companies, and educational institutions pursuing aquatic conservation solutions.
