For over forty years, aquatic researchers, fish conservation agencies and the fisheries industry have relied on us for high-technology products and services.
Electrofishers
LR-24 Electrofisher. Our premiere electrofisher is built with advanced technology based on Smith-Root research and years of experiential input.
LR-20 Electrofisher. The newest addition to our family of electrofishers offers the safety and ruggedness of the LR-24 with the reliability of our classic Model 12 at a significantly lower price.
GPP Electrofishers. A complete line of generator powered electrofishers with power capabilities for low to high conductivity water. Variable voltage pulsed AC and DC output modes are standard.
VVP-15B Electrofisher. The VVP-15B is a Smith-Root electrofisher that is based on the electrical output waveforms of the Coffelt VVP-15 and Mark 22 units.
1.5KVA Electrofisher. The 1.5 KVA is an economically priced, medium powered electrofisher for use with your own generator. Its light weight and small size make it ideal for both boat and shore-side operations.
Type VI-A Electrofisher. The Type VI-A is a heavy-duty 5kW electrofisher for use with your own generator. It is designed for use in large bodies of water or in low to medium-high conductivity waters.
Boats
Electrofishing Boats. Our heavy-duty electrofishing work boats are designed to provide safe and stable working conditions. They provide the fisheries researcher with the utmost in electrofishing efficiency and equipment reliability.
CataRaft. The CataRaft is an inflatable electrofishing craft designed for whitewater use. Its' inflatable pontoons are ideal for shallow water work and maneuverability.
Aquaculture
Electroanesthesia. Electroanesthesia as a technique for processing large numbers of fish offers a viable alternative to the use of chemicals. It is safe, fast, effective and inexpensive to use - as compared to labor intensive handling protocols.
Fish Counting. Smith-Root fish counting systems are used at hatcheries and major river systems throughout North America as well as many other locations around the world. Our many years of experience solving the complex variables involved in fish counting has enabled us to produce the most accurate and reliable fish counters available.
